Wow it’s been a LONG time since I left the house for the sole purpose of taking pretty pictures. But this week it happened and it was SO fun! Props to my creative buddy Pam for suggesting that we do it.
Before you read any further,
if you have anything lavender scented in your home you should set it beside you as you read to get a better sensory experience while looking at the photos….got it?….OK let’s take a look shall we?

The fields that we went to are called Weir’s Lane Lavender and Apiary. So yes, they do keep bees there which make a delicate lavender-infused honey. The honey is for sale in their small shop. It was Personally Junior’s choice for a souvenir of the trip. Good choice.
But back to the fields…
We took a tour of the property and our guide shared lots of information about how lavender is grown, the various types of lavender available and what each is best used for. Fascinating. The prettiest one I think is this lovely silvery-gray variety. Gorgeous.
While we were there a photo shoot was happening for a wedding magazine, all set up with vintage stemware, silverware, china and lace. That gives you an idea of the lovely romantic feel of the place…perfect for an outdoor wedding.
And I mentioned there is a little shop with a myriad of lavender-based products available for sale. Everything is beautifully packaged and set up in pretty little vignettes. There was even a darling little gray kitten to entertain PJ while we browsed. What more could you ask for from a shop?
One last view, and one last scent, and keep the tune of Lavender Blue in your head.
Hope you had a lovely trip to the lavender fields in your mind’s eye.
