Photo Finish 6: Vintage Finds Vignette

Photo Finish 6 | Vintage Finds Vignette | personallyandrea.com
Oh the weather outside is frightful.  And I’m really done with freezing my hands and my camera trying to take pictures outside.  Even brand new snowfalls piled beautifully on fences and tree branches don’t entice me anymore.

So I was indoors sorting through a box marked “china” as plans for some display space in our dining room are coming together.  I came across this beautiful teacup from my mother-in-law.  Now…she has a fantastic collection of teacups which I would love to photograph someday.

In the meantime a few beautiful ones have made their way here, including this one.  It’s Aynsley bone china and I love the turquoise and gold combination.  Also the exquisite shape of the handle.  Did you know the flat part of the handle is a thumb-rest?  The silver teaspoons are also from my mother-in-law and are monogrammed and now have a gorgeous vintage patina.

The books are The Last of the Mohicans which is from my father-in-law’s library, and Oliver Twist which was a present from Mr. P for my birthday once.  And baby’s breath always has an airy vintage look to it I think and I had bought myself some for a pot on my mantel as a valentine-but-not-too-valentine element.  Then the chippy milk-painted frame which was a project I did recently.  So all these pretty and meaningful items came together in a little vintage-inspired vignette with some faded winter mid-afternoon window light.

What do you think?  I think I like it.  And since this post is my 100th one on this blog, I felt a bit entitled to just do something that I liked.
